Women :: Niche or Outlandish?I've been reading about some interesting fashion innovations of late, most of which are unlikely to grace the covers of Vogue, W or Harper's Bazaar, but even so, they're worth a mention.Driving in heels is difficult and uncomfortable. Of course, there's the option to taking them off before starting the engine, but here's a much glamorous idea. Why not go from Stilettos to flats with a push of a button? These sexy, pink and black stilettos by Sheila's Wheels are both classy AND practical. Says Jacky Brown from Sheila's Wheels, "Our Sheila Driving Heel design could provide safety-conscious female motorists with the ultimate driving shoe - allowing women to wear a safe flat shoe whilst driving, and a fashionable heel once they are out of the car." Unlike your average pair of Jimmy Choos, Sheila's Heels won't scuff on the back. Coveting the most famous, expensive jewels in the world? Like the Hope diamond, but not the curse? Then you may be interested in the pixilated recreations of famous jewelry. Mike and Maaike are experimental designers out of San Francisco, who doctor stolen Google low-res images of famous jewels, which they imprint onto leather "creating a tangible, new incarnation." Hmmmm. Finally, now there are bandages aren't white or flesh colored. Ebon-Aids come in a variety of color tones including: mocha, coffee, cinnamon, and honey skin. Ebon-Aid blends with the skin to help "conceal as you heal" (same concept as foundation make-up). This innovation seems long overdue, and I only wish I had thought of it first. |
