Thumbs Up :: Enhancing the Travel Experience by packing less

With today's airline baggage restrictions and cramped cabin seating, traveling light makes more and more sense. Flying with infants brings an end to traveling light, as a baby's essentials quickly add up to excess baggage and fees. British company Tinytotsaway.com eases the stress, by letting parents pre-order all of their child's bulky necessities (diapers, toys, etc.) online and has them delivered to their holiday destination. This not only helps with the extra baggage issue, but also saves the hassle of shopping upon arrival.

Also enhancing the guest experience is a pre-arrival service introduced by Dubai-based Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, which helps travelers by pre-ordering items from the hotel's retail offerings and has them waiting in their room upon arrival. Guests can choose from a range of personal-care products in the Jumeirah Collection - including sunscreen, toothpaste and baby wipes, as well as a selection of books by current authors for entertainment. Orders are beautifully wrapped and left in guests' rooms before they arrive, and the cost of the items is simply added to the room charge.

Memo to other hotels: time to start thinking ahead.
