Lifestyle :: What? Luxury RVs?

You could have imagined my complete and utter shock when I came across the Travel Network the other day. No it wasn't from eyeing pricey pads and inconceivably expensive new technologies, but- hold your breath- RV Aficionados.

RV Aficionados? Wait What? Yes that's what I said.

Uber-luxe RVs have been sprouting up all over the US for the past few years. From imported Italian leather sofas and 60 inch plasma TV screens to tables made out of priceless Oak wood from South Africa and entertainment centers that store up to 30 separate TV screens, these puppies are going from $500,000 to up to $2 million a piece. With some RVs decked in 24-kt gold fixtures and Italian marble floors, celebrities, businessmen, and real estate and finance moguls are forgoing five-star hotel rooms and choosing to rest their heads in these muy-expensivo RVs.

Everyone knows you need a place to park this mansion on wheels. Luxury RV parks all over the US are equipped with oversized lots, outdoor kitchens with all state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen appliances, full spas and fitness centers, and personal docks for the boat! Oh, and no normal modest campers are allowed. From lots that range from $75,000 to $250,000, plans are in place for bans on anything less than a 45 ft-long coach.

So I guess the moral of the story is, these days, if you have the money, you can make anything into way more than its blue-collar history. And, you are sure to find others that are right with you in the trend.
